Mr Iain Packham has been a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in shoulder and elbow problems for more than ten years. He works in the Avon Orthopaedic Centre and the Bristol Major Trauma Centre.
Mr Packham trained at Nottingham University before undertaking his Surgical Training in London. He has undertaken Fellowships at The Cape Shoulder Institute, South Africa, and The North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre, Australia.
He has specialist experience in the key-hole treatment of shoulder injuries as well as complex shoulder reconstruction and replacement.
Mr Packham has a research interest that covers shoulder problems including, dislocations of the shoulder, repair of the rotator cuff, fractures of the clavicle and humerus as well as shoulder replacement surgery.
Mr Packham has an interest in patient safety and has been the Chair of the Clinical Risk Committee at a major NHS trust and provides expert medicolegal advice and opinion.
